Here at the Worster's Wild Fox Cabins, we offer you clean, modern facilities
without sacrificing any of the rustic charm you would expect
in a wilderness retreat. We have eight brand-new, lake-front,
log-sided cabins which sleep up to seven people each.
Unlike accommodations at other resorts, our cabins are spacious
with an open floor plan and a loft. They are also spaced far enough apart
from each other to ensure both seclusion and privacy. Each
cabin features all new furniture and bedding, and has electricity for modern convenience.
Either way, you can enjoy the use of a fully furnished kitchen, hot running water,
lights and a private porch with a lakeside view,
Or, if you prefer, stay in one of our
10 rustic campsites nestled in a wooded setting.
Worster's Wild Fox Cabin's is the ideal location to spend an afternoon
lazing on your porch or cooling off in the lake. But for the more adventurous,
we have the following available:
: Few places in the country rival New England's breathtaking scenery,
plentiful fauna and dramatic seasonal foliage. To help you appreciate the picturesque
landscape, we have hiking and nature trails throughout our 155 acres. Try
your hand at wildlife photography--it's not uncommon to catch a glimpse
of a moose or two. The area is also home to bear, deer, pine marten, beaver,
otter and other mammals. Bird enthusiasts have cause to rejoice--this
region supports over 185 bird spices, including 23 kinds of warbler,
loons, American black ducks, Canada geese and wood ducks.
Canoeing and Kayaking
: Enjoy the gorgeous Maine scenery from the water.
Rent a fishing boat,canoe or kayak and cruise the vase waterways
and well-maintained routes available to you.
Be sure to pack a lunch--the surrounding waters are dotted with
islands you'll want to explorer, many of which offer picnic facilities
and campsites. Boat camping--traveling by canoe or kayak from
campsites to campsites throughout the lake system--is a popular activity.
You can retrace some of the Historic Native American canoe routes maintained by
State of Maine, where you're sure to spy a wide range of birds and wildlife---
perhaps some osprey or even a bald eagle.
: The lakes of Worster's Wild Fox Cabin's are every angler's dream.
Our waters are teeming with landlocked salmon, smallmouth bass, whitefish, trout,
pickerel, cusk and other species. Catch dinner in front of your cabin, or head out
on the water for an extended excursion.
: Worster's Wild Fox Cabin's is situated among the most fertile
hunting grounds of the Northeast. Our grounds offer deer, bear, moose, coyote
and small game such as rabbit and grouse. You may also choose to leave our
property and hunt the adjacent 300,000 acres of conservation land, where
you'll have access to hundreds of miles of gravel roads.
: The fun doesn't end when the temperature drops.
Ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing
will all keep you warm during your winter getaway.
Fish for landlocked salmon, whitefish, white perch and other species.
Ride your snowmobile along the 133 miles of trails groomed by the
local snowmobile club, or connect from there to the Maine Interconnected
Trail System (ITS).
